Thanks for visiting Data Streams Science Consulting, or Data Streams for short. I am Dr. Matthew Acre, the president and founder. I started Data Streams in 2019 while living in Bryan/College Station, TX and working as a postdoctoral research associate. I have always had a passion for analyzing data and presenting it in a easily digestible manner, hence the birth of Data Streams.

I received my B.S. from Texas A&M in 2009 with a focus on ecology and conservation. Upon completing my undergraduate work I joined the U.S. Peace Corps where I served as an ecologist for the Protected Areas of Cape Verde in Western Africa. During my time there is when I began developing my consulting skills in ArcGIS and statistics while creating the first biodiversity report of the country with colleagues from Cape Verde. I successfully completed my service in 2012, and that’s when I began honing my current skill set that I had begun in Cape Verde.

My M.S. and PhD were completed at Texas Tech University with foci in statistics, spatial analysis, conservation, ecology, and fisheries. While completing my PhD I found myself providing statistics, experimental design, and presentation support to vast spread of experience levels. During my six-year tenure at Texas Tech University, I provided these services to faculty, >20 graduate students, and many undergraduate students and have continued this practice in my new job as a postdoctoral research associate.

While we currently provide statistics, GIS, and visualizations support if you have another project that is outside this realm, give us a shout and we can work something out.

If you have questions or you want to discuss a potential project that you want to complete, send me an email here.

Thanks,

Matthew R. Acre, PhD
